RATING
WINE / TASTINGNOTE
Mosel-Saar-Ruwer
Von Kesselstatt's RK QbA shows excellent acidity with incipient peach fruit in a light body. This is excellent generic Mosel-Saar-Ruwer Riesling, probably best drunk 2004-2008.
Mosel-Saar-Ruwer
The Wine
Needs more time, but for now, I found the wine light and elegant with hints of honey and acacia in the mose (a touch of botrytis?) and a fair amount of sweetness to go with the very ripe, almost tropical fruit.
Mosel-Saar-Ruwer
The Wine
A von Kesselstatt monopole, has a lovely wildflower and cassis leaf nose, followed by a rich body (9% alcohol here) but with delicacy to the ripe, floral and pear flavors. This wine should develop magnificently with time.
Mosel-Saar-Ruwer
The Wine
Is spicy (cloves) and stony with depth and breadth and a lively acidity. The wine is still quite young and I would suggest holding this wine a minimum of 3-5 years before drinking.
Mosel-Saar-Ruwer
The Wine
Steely an nervous with ginger, stones, and oriental spice aromas and flavor, some power and richness, and supporting acidity to tie it all together. This is wine that seems best left in the cellar for 4-6 years before drinking.
Mosel-Saar-Ruwer
The Wine
Has hints of honey brown sugar indicating botrytis, with a medium-weight, tightly-wound body that also is of medium-depth. Long finish, elegant, lacy body.
Mosel-Saar-Ruwer
The Wine
Is relatively light an delicate but with depth and firmness and a lovely delineation of the spicy fruit. With several years' aging, the wine should only gain in depth and complexity.
Mosel-Saar-Ruwer
The Wine
Has characteristic candied grapefruit peel aromas. In the mouth, the wine is round and slightly soft with good acidity and light citric notes.
Mosel-Saar-Ruwer
The Wine
Is an immensely appealing wine. It features pure, crystalline, relatively powerful spice lime blossom aromas and flavors of great length.
Mosel-Saar-Ruwer
The Wine
Is sensational, even though still quite closed. The wine is very stony, pure and crystalline with ginger spice, botrytis and plenty of backbone and depth, plus plenty of sweetness.
